Artists' Holiday Open Studios and Mixer @Art Bias

This year the studio artists of Art Bias are organizing their very first own

Artists' Holiday Open Studios and Mixer

At Art Bias - 1700 Industrial Road, San Carlos, CA 94070

Saturday December 7 2019, 11am to 5pm

This year there are 17 artists opening their studios for you, what a wonderful opportunity to see what we have been working on this year. They are: Lynne Auld, Zdenka Bleile, John Borrows, Jil Coolidge, Linda Goodwin, Lindsay Houge, Lory Kitamura, Diane Liguori, Namita Paul, Maarit Rajahalme, Amy Rattner, Tricia Seibold, Olga Tereshenko, Wendi Wood, Yukali, Inna Zatulovsky and myself;-) Barbara Bussler.

But wait, that's not all. To add to your fun we will have hourly drawings of free gifts, all provided by the artists, Art Bias and even some who can't participate. And then enjoy some nibbles and libations, all again provided by our fun-loving artist community. So do stop by, you will be surprised how it's going to look here this year.

And lastly, let's not forget, with your visit and maybe getting some of your gift shopping done here you are also showing your support for your local artists, so THANK YOU!

If you need a nudge to get into the holiday spirit, this event happening at the Los Gatos History Club should be just the thing to help hear those sleigh bells ring. The Christmas Goose Boutique of Los Gatos/Saratoga holds its annual display of all crafts related to the holidays (Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas) as well as pantry items, jewelry and always some new gift-giving ideas. Very festive and fun, and word has it that some customers come repeatedly during those days.

Saturday, October 26 from 10AM to 4PM

FabMo is a non for profit organization that provides unique, high-end materials to artists, teachers, and others for creative reuse.  These exquisite materials (textiles, wallpapers, tiles, leathers, trims, etc.) are from the design world, and are usually not available to you at all except through a designer.  FabMo makes them available on a donation basis (about 70 tons/year), diverting them from their otherwise destination --- the landfill!

This is their Eleventh Annual boutique - now called FabMo Arts Boutique - that shows the creative use of those materials.

The 2019 Boutique is scheduled for Saturday, October 26 from 10AM to 4PM

I am happily participating again as a vendor as I've been using FabMo tiles for several of my mosaic pumpkins and a mosaic mural at White Oaks School in San Carlos. And once again I made more of my unique fabric pumpkins made exclusively with FabMo fabrics.

Parking is free. I'm looking forward to seeing You there!

100 Moments in Mosaic

The One Hundred Moments in Mosaic project is a collection of work representing the full spectrum of the Society of American Mosaic Artist’s diverse and richly creative membership.

The work of seasoned professionals is displayed alongside enthusiastic newcomers to the     mosaic making process, culminating in 100+ moments of life rendered in mosaic by artists from all over the world.

This collection was presented November 2- 4, 2018 at the Sculpture Objects Functional Art & Design Expo in Chicago, IL at the famed Navy Pier and again at the West Gallery of the Parthenon Museum, Nashville, TN January 26 – May 19, 2019.

My mosaic 'We Medusas' marks two important 'firsts' for me: participating in this SAMA exhibit since becoming a member in 2015, and subsequently being exhibited in public for the first time.

My Studio is going to be turned into a little pop-up shop for the days leading up to Valentines. This means I will pull out all my goods for you to look at, try and touch, have a chat with me and a toast and some chocolates. After all it's Valentines, a great reason to visit and celebrate with a friend, right?

Knitted scarves - mosaic jewelry - heart greeting cards and mugs - flower pots - wreaths.
And a fabulous white smalti mosaic heart.

The hours for the Valentine's Shop are:

Tuesday Feb 12, 3-6pm and 7-8pm

Wednesday, Feb 13 11am-2pm

Thursday, Feb 14 noon - 4pm

An important note regarding parking and our studios: Our studio space is now called Art Bias (formerly the Art Center of Redwood City and San Carlos), so look for the bright brainy sign on 1700 Industrial Road, San Carlos. If you come before 5pm please find parking on Bing Street, as the main tenants reserve the parking lot in front for them during business hours. After 5pm you may park right there on the parking lot.
