SVOS 2020 was cancelled, but ...
The SVOS Online Shop is open until Nov 30, 2020
Come visit and see the immense body of work Silicon Valley Artists have to offer!
For the first time since its beginnings the Silicon Valley Open Studios have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus. But we are happy to announce that the online shop is now open, not only to support the artists but also the Second Harvest Food Bank! At least 15% of all sales will be donated to them. We all really appreciate your business.
You can see my special SVOS offerings here, or for my complete list of works go to my Etsy shop.
I commit to donate at least 15% of any sales coming through SVOS to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Viewing (in parking lot) and pickup would be at
Art Bias, 1700 Industrial Road, San Carlos, CA 94070
but other arrangements can be made.
The next best thing to a real Weihnachtsmarkt is here!
The GISSV - German International School of Silicon Valley's 8th Annual German Holiday Market - a very popular event usually held on a December Saturday downtown Mountain View - will be online this year due to COVID-19. The German Holiday Market website will launch on
Friday, November 20, at 12:01 am, and will remain live for orders until Sunday, December 20, at 11:59 pm.
On December 12th, the day we would have held our Weihnachtsmarkt in-person, we have special attractions planned online including musical performances, messages from Santa, a live auction, and more. Shop specialties from Germany, Advent wreaths, and handcrafted gifts from Bay Area artisans.
I'll be present with my shop tile - a link to my special offerings for this event.
We would love for you to join us!
Once again I am happy to be participating what would be the
12th annual FabMo boutique,
this year as a wonderful online event, and I hope you’ll check it out.
The Artisan-Showcase@Fabmo.org features the work of 60 artists and artisans, all showcasing their sustainably-made, handcrafted creations.
You’ll find fine art, fashion, jewelry and accessories, home decor items, holiday gifts, toys and dolls. There are things to make your fall more festive and an eco-friendly gift for everyone on your holiday list.
The Artisan Showcase @ Fabmo.org will be open
October 24 2020 through January 4th, 2021.
Please visit us at www.fabmo.org/artisan-showcase
A portion of the proceeds from this event goes to support the Bay Area non-profit Fabmo and its mission of rescuing new but discarded designer materials from a fate in the landfill by putting them in the hands of artists, makers, educators, charities and anyone else who can give them a second life. To learn more about Fabmo ad the 20+ tons of material they rescue each year, please visit www.Fabmo.org.
Open September - December 2020 and into January 2021
Although the annual event at the History Club of Los Gatos had to be canceled this year a loyal group of the vendors and makers is now offering their goods in Sharon and Mel Morgan's
online boutique.
Please support this effort as for many of the makers all boutiques and events were canceled this year, so they had to react quickly and now depend on online efforts like this one.
You can find my maker page under 'Mosaics and More', so go and check out what I have to offer this year -- somethings familiar, and some new items of course!
And what a nice collection is offered here overall, with ongoing updates and new items every week. So, if you need a nudge to get into the holiday spirit, this should be just the thing to help hear those sleigh bells ring;-). All we miss is Rufus at the door, but hopefully we will be there again next year - life at the History Club. The dates are set already;-)
The online shop will be open into January 2021 and maybe even longer with varying makers and new merchandise coming in weekly, so keep checking back!
100 Moments in Mosaic -- Season Three
The One Hundred Moments in Mosaic project is a collection of work representing the full spectrum of the Society of American Mosaic Artist’s diverse and richly creative membership.
The work of seasoned professionals is displayed alongside enthusiastic newcomers to the mosaic making process, culminating in 100+ moments of life rendered in mosaic by artists from all over the world.
This collection was presented online from Dec 2019 to June 2020; due to the cancellation of SAMA conference it could not be shown to the public in May in Tuscon, AZ as planned.
My mosaic called 'Another One For My Growing Pumpkin Patch' showcases local shale rock from the Sierra Nevada (where we have our mountain home).

FabMo is a non for profit organization that provides unique, high-end materials to artists, teachers, and others for creative reuse. These exquisite materials (textiles, wallpapers, tiles, leathers, trims, etc.) are from the design world, and are usually not available to you at all except through a designer. FabMo makes them available on a donation basis (about 70 tons/year), diverting them from their otherwise destination --- the landfill!
This is their Eleventh Annual boutique - now called FabMo Arts Boutique - that shows the creative use of those materials.
The 2019 Boutique is scheduled for Saturday, October 26 from 10AM to 4PM
I am happily participating again as a vendor as I've been using FabMo tiles for several of my mosaic pumpkins and a mosaic mural at White Oaks School in San Carlos. And once again I made more of my unique fabric pumpkins made exclusively with FabMo fabrics.
